National Chronic Disease Director's Association (NACDD), Action Communities for Health, Innovation and EnVironmental ChangE (ACHIEVE)
Communities can apply for $75,000 for a three-year funding cycle (not $75,000 per year) to create healthy communities by promoting local leadership and action to reduce chronic diseases through policy, systems and environmental change strategies to increase physical activity, prevent tobacco use and promote healthy nutrition. Funding is available through the National Chronic Disease Director's Association (NACDD), Action Communities for Health, Innovation and EnVironmental ChangE (ACHIEVE) funds. ACHIEVE works through a five-phase process: coalition building/commitment, assessment, prioritization and planning, implementation, and evaluation.More information is available on their website. The NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD)
The NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) offers a new funding opportunity in community-based participatory research. The Community Networks Program (CNP) – Centers for Reducing Cancer Disparities (U54)—initiative will support establishing CNP centers that will utilize a community-based participatory research approach to reducing cancer disparities through a combination of outreach, research and training. This FOA is open to all qualified applicants regardless of whether or not they participated in the previous CNP issuance.Letters of Intent Receipt Deadline: November 15, 2009
