Free June 19 Teleconference: Advancing Health Reform by Inclusion: Engaging Communities of Color in Creating Policy Change

Advancing Health Reform by Inclusion: Engaging Communities of Color in Creating Policy Change

Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern Time - Register at http://bit.ly/KMvqDm by Friday, June 15, 2012

The best change occurs when the communities most affected are involved. Moving toward health equity requires full participation by communities of color in the policy making process and implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Community Catalyst conducted an assessment to identify emerging and effective ways state consumer health advocates and community-based organizations are engaging communities of color in creating policy change to advance the ACA.

On this call speakers will:

  *  Share the findings from the research, including best practices used by
state and local advocates in five states Alabama, Michigan, Minnesota,
     New York and Oregon
  *  Hear from advocates in New York and Minnesota about the work in their
     work to advance health equity
  *  Offer recommendations for state and national organizations and
     funders

If you have any questions, please contact Quynh Chi Nguyen, Health Equity Team Lead at qnguyen@communitycatalyst.org (617-275-2872)
