Job Announcement: Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority - Executive Director

The newly created Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority (VHWDA) is searching for a leader to build VHWDA from the ground, up. The Executive Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the VHWDA Board; acting as a professional advisor to the board on all aspects of the VHWDA activities; and fosters effective teamwork with the board, staff and stakeholders. Duties include serving as a spokesperson for VHWDA, oversight of all aspects of program and services, budget management, and staff management.

The executive director will provide oversight for the Virginia Area Health Education Centers program and therefore must be eligible to receive a faculty appointment at a School of Medicine. Position will be located in the greater Richmond area; must be willing to travel within Virginia.

Qualifications: Minimum of Master’s Degree in a related field, doctorate preferred. Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit organizations. Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization. 5 or more years of progressive management experience in the nonprofit arena preferred.
Salary: $90,000 - $108,000 + benefits depending on qualifications.
