2011 Health Equity Webinar

This webinar will focus on how to evaluate policy, system, and environmental (PSE) change strategies with a health equity focus. Specifically, Dr. Williams will address how communities can leverage their evaluation findings to answer questions about the equitable impact of PSE approaches, health disparities, and health equity.


Dr. David R. Williams, a professor of public health at the Harvard School of Public Health, is also a professor of African and African American studies and an affiliate of the Sociology Department at Harvard University. Dr. Williams has played a visible, national leadership role in raising awareness about the problem of health disparities and identifying interventions to address them. He is internationally recognized as a leading social scientist focused on social influences on health. His research has enhanced understanding of the complex ways in which race, racial discrimination, socioeconomic status, and religious involvement can affect physical and mental health. Dr. Williams has also been involved in the development of national health policy in the United States.
