Spread the Word about Safe Sleep Habits to all new Mothers to be – and Fathers
Here are do’s and don’ts that parents should faithfully follow:
- Your Baby should sleep alone – Parents you can sleep close by, but separate from your infant
- Do not sleep with your Baby on a couch or in a chair
- Your Baby should sleep on its back – Parents inform all of your baby’s caregivers to position your infant on the back to sleep
- Your Baby should sleep in a crib or bassinet with a firm, tight-fitting mattress. Parents and caregivers should never use a memory form pad for a mattress.
- Your Baby should sleep in a crib or bassinet without pillows, bumpter pads, quilts, comforters, sheepskins or soft toys.
- Avoid overheating your Baby by over bundling or setting the room temperature too high.
- Make sure your Baby sleeps in a smoke free environment -- there are no exceptions!
